What Happened To Jon's Soul
Once upon a time there lived a man and his wife. The man was very unsociable and unpopular, and he was lazy and useless at home. His wife was very little satisfied with it; she often scolded him and said, that he was good for nothing other than squandering what they saved up; for she herself was a very prudent woman and used all tricks to obtain the necessary things and understood to take everyone as he had to be taken. But even if they were in Although they disagreed on some things, the woman was good to her old man and He had everything he needed. It went on like this for quite a while, but once the man fell into a serious illness. The woman cared for him, and As his strength waned, she realized that he was unlikely to be able to prepared for death, that there was no doubt whether he would would find entry into heaven.
She therefore thought to herself that it would be most advisable to try to guide the soul of her master onto the right path She therefore took a leather bag and held it in front of the nostrils of the man, and as he breathed his last, the man into the bag, and the woman hurried to tie the opening. Then she went to heaven, the bag wrapped in her apron, came to the gates of the kingdom of heaven and knocked.
St. Peter came to the gate and asked what they wanted. »Good day,« said the old woman, »I have come here with the soul of my Jon. You will have heard of him, and I would like to ask you to to slip in.« »Ah,« said St. Peter, »I can Unfortunately not, I have heard about your Jon, but never anything Good.« Then the woman said: »I would never have believed, Peter, that you hard-hearted; you have probably forgotten what happened to you once when you have denied your Lord and Master."
St. Peter went in and locked the gate, but the old woman remained standing outside and groaning. After a little while had passed, she knocked again and St. Paul came out. She greeted him and asked what his name was, but he said his name. She asked him to to take care of her Jon's soul, but he replied that he knew nothing of wanted to know; her Jon deserved no mercy, he said. Then the Mrs. venomously and said: »That suits you well, Paul! You have the Grace better deserved, as I can imagine, because you used to be God and persecuting good people. It is probably best that I stop to ask you.«
St. Paul quickly closed the gate. But when the woman asked for the third time knocked, the Virgin Mary came out. »Good day, dear Virgin,« said the woman, »I hope you will allow my Jon to stay here comes in, even if Peter and Paul do not want it."
»Unfortunately, I cannot do that, my dear,« answered Maria, »for that your Jon is far too much of a good-for-nothing.« »I don't want to be with you "I thought you knew that other people can be as weak as you, or can you no longer remember that you have had a child whose father you do not know Maria didn’t want to hear anything else and hurried to close.
The woman knocked on the gate a fourth time. Then Christ himself came and asked where she wanted to go. She humbly replied: »I wanted to ask, my dear Savior, to admit this poor soul.« Christ answered: "That is Jon, - no, woman, he did not believe in me." Then he wanted to close the gate, but she was not lazy and threw the Bag in which the soul was, passed him, so that he could go far into the kingdom of heaven flew, and the gate was locked.
The woman was relieved that Jon was now, despite everything, Kingdom of Heaven had come, and she returned home happily. But neither of her nor of what became of Jon’s soul we have more to say.
